MediaTemple Account Center Domain Tab
Just recently, a client of mine wanted to change their email platform over to Google Apps. The main reason being that the default web-based platform for MediaTemple(MT) being “Horde” just wasn’t to their liking. So, since I provide & manage their hosting through MT, I thought it would be nice to write this out briefly since there isn’t much in the way of documentation on MT’s knowledgebase.
- Make sure you’ve backed up your existing email accounts on this domain to your liking, because we’re going live with Google Apps and Gmail through this process
- Login to your MT AccountCenter
- Choose the domain you’re interested in using Google Apps on, and select “Edit Zone File”
- Remove any existing MX records
- Add the additional 5 MX and 1 Cname records from below to your zone file
- The last step requires you to login to your Plesk Control Panel and switch off the mail services for the domain in question
- That should do the trick…We’re just directing your mail services to Google, and if you decrease the TTL it should replicate quicker than usual
